Hello everyone! I want to say "thank you" to all who have shown love, support, and prayers over the past week. My aortic valve replacement surgery was on Tuesday morning and all went well. I received the Edwards LifeScience Inspiris Resilia bioprosthesis valve, which should give me many active years back on my life, and without the use of long-term blood thinners. (Only three months of Coumadin) This means I can get back to being an athlete and resume my previous lifestyle.
I am still here at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, waiting on my stubborn INR and Hemoglobin numbers to rise. The medical staff is confident that they will get up to acceptable levels soon, so I anticipate being home this week.
While I wait to be discharged, I am making some new friends like this pretty lady, named Lindy. She is a Mayo Clinic service canine. 🐶
Thanks again everyone!!!
Sara Moyce Ah...best wishes to you Matt! Lindy looks like such a doll...and hope she provides comfort to you!
