Hi All, I recently got diagnosed with Severe Bicuspid Aortic Valve Stenosis accompanied with significant dilatation of the ascending aorta. I am 50 years old and relatively healthy. My job requires me to handle moderate to heavy lifting 2 to 3 hours every day. After a few consultations, I am liking the idea of choosing the Ross Procedure. However, I am having hard time deciding between two significantly different approaches when it comes to Autograft Wrapping. One group of surgeon's use Dacron Sheath while the other uses the native Aorta for autograft support. Both groups have equal amount of experience in their preferred techniques. I was hoping to get some guidance in terms of Patient Characteristics rather than basing my decision based only on Physician Preference. Any thoughts, comments or shared experiences?

Mike Mike Thanks for the comment Rose. I have done some research around this issue and it seems like the difference in outcome is probably negligible in the long run .. as long as the surgeon performing the surgery is using proper technique for their chosen method.
