I spent last night in ER and today at the hospital. My blood pressure was up and I had some visual changes. The docs added a small dose of lisinopril to my daily meds. I take metoprolol, which was started a couple of weeks prior to my AVR. I had taken only Lisinopril up until this date. I feel fine, just a bump in the journey. I am ready to have a peaceful night in my own bed---hospital ER carts do not offer such a pleasure! Peace to all as this day closes. Pat

I had my surgery on July 16, 2014. I have been back to work since September 14. I continue to grow stronger each day! I have a special request. I am a minister in a residence for elder adults. One of the assisted living residents, let's call her Mrs. P, for privacy reasons, is preparing for an AVR in the next two or three days. Please hold her your good thoughts and prayers! Thanks and be well!

Pat DeBruce Thanks for the prayers for Mrs. P. Right now things are not looking up for her. She will more than likely be going back to her family home and be admitted to hospice care. She has many other conditions that are not in her favor. Please continue praying with her. Thanks for your best wishes for my return to good health. This group is great! I don't get to read postings every day, I have a couple of Golden pups that are tennis ball starved! LOL! It is so good to be able to do physical things again and be able to breath! Peace to your day and enjoy the weekend, it is a perfect autumn day here in southeast Michigan---and it is my day off! What more to ask for! <3

I had open heart surgery at the Mat Gaberty Heart Center of McLaren Macomb Hospital on July 16, 2014. I had dealt with mild aortic stenosis for years and suddenly it became symptomatic. I feel better already! There is still the task of rebuilding my stamina and endurance and the healing of the thoracic area from the procedure, however, overall better health is peeking through. I am happy to see such a community available online!
