I am less than a week from surgery and am currently more concerned about getting my "to-do" list done before the 18th than I am about the surgery itself. Though, to be honest, I am of course nervous about the procedure. I realize the doctors, nurses, techs etc are all highly skilled and experienced, etc. etc. but I am still acutely aware that they are going to stop my heart. I am, overall, optimistic about this, but as I am taking pragmatic steps in preparation for surgery - just before Christmas - I cannot help but think about best and worse-case scenarios. I won't go into the list of all I'd like to do, but it's long. lol I keep putting one foot in front of the other and doing the next thing I can - while running the Serenity Prayer on a loop in my head!
