got a letter from cardo doctor yesterday ... will be going for my echo early at the last appointment we were going to do it at the first of the coming year..excited to know what my ejection fraction is YEA,,,,,, but at the appointment he thought he heard what could be a blockage starting in my carotid in my neck ,,, which if there is it has just started because the ones I had after surgery didn't show anything....when he told me lol my thought was Lord can I please get over the replacement and cope with all that goes with it but on the 13th (always a good date for a test lol) I will find out if there is another bridge to cross in my heart journey... as for today it's comadin clinic hope the numbers are good there .....take care everyone

Nancy Lewis I am so glad to hear this. (NOT about you feeling down about not making it) I'm having a hard time adjusting to recovery. I'm not sure why it isn't done yet. (it has been 12 days) I need to follow your lead in the outlook department. Some days you can and some days you can't. There will be another day, and a friend, loved one, caregiver to help you when you can't and encourage you when you can. Thank you for your post.

My first heart attack was one with all the signs but what did I do stayed in bed and let husband sleep. Got up at 4:00a.m went to work as waitress but two weeks later at work it happened again. They found me on the bathroom floor having heart attack took me to ER in our small town and I was off to a larger city where they found two blockages of 98% in one and 85% in another. So off to heart caf I went they only put in one stunt two weeks later went for the next one. At this time they tore up the vain in my right groin had to go back in on left side gave me more iodine was allergic had reaction was in procedure room from noon until six that afternoon they put a stunt in my right groin. After six weeks of rehab at the end of one of the stunts closed so in again we went and this time had another small heart attack. The bottom of my heart is nothing but scar tissue. Several years later wasn't doing good so went to heart caf luckly didn't have any blockages but a virus I had had in the past had went to my heart and left my heart muscle weak after several years living like this in 2010 they put a pacemaker/defibrillator had to have a new one in 2014 battery got low. But in 2000 was when I learned about the leaky valves. So this year I had the double valve replacement. When my valves were sent to pathology it was found that I had a bactarial infection. So that was another road to travel. Got over that and went home back to where I live and one month later got an infection in incession and had a 29 day stay in hospital but everything is behind me now. So I plan to keep on rock n rollin as long as this old 65 year old can.
Diane Zeigler Wow! You have been through so much. I hope things go well for you in the future.

My name is Rose and I had double valve replacement at Medical City in Dallas, Texas on April11,2016. My aortic and mitral valves were replaced by Dr. Todd Dewey. I have been heart patient since 2000 when I had 3 heart attacks. In 2010 I got my pacemaker/defibrillator. I'm soon to be 65 years old.
Phyllis Petersen Quite a journey you've been on! I hope things are improving for you.

Phyllis Petersen I've had mitral valve prolapse with regurg for years. Actually, my doctor thought he heard the murmur when I was 28, but only did an EKG. In early 2002, I had an echo after developing breathing problems, which showed mild regurg and was followed as it progressed. After some issues with the new cardiologist after mine moved, then early retirement and moving across the country, I went for an echo for cardiac clearance before having my knee replaced and the doctor reading it was not happy. TEE confirmed that I needed surgery sooner rather than later. I'm hoping to have robotic assisted on Oct. 13. It's getting sooooo close!
