Catie B Greg, I hope it's ok to chime in. I don't think you could go wrong with Dr. Will Ryan. His reputation is golden (As you probably realize, so is the Heart Hospital's) and he has a world of experience with aortic valve/aneurysm surgeries. When I met him, he caught an issue that the first Cleveland Clinic surgeon I consulted missed. Why I felt the need to go to CC for my valve/aneurysm in '16 is a bit complicated. BTW, I'm in Hurst.

Gregory Brummett I've consulted with Dr. Lars Svenson at CC & was planning to go to CC, but someone here in DFW told me to see Dr. Harrington at HHBP. I had an appt with her, but wound up seeing Dr. Schaffer and Dr. Mack. Probably any of them are world class, but after seeing Dr. Ryan's name in Adam Pick's book, I asked for an appointment with Dr. Ryan & so will be seeing Dr. Ryan tomorrow.

Kathy Blank Greg/-I Have visited 4 surgeons and 3 of them were in Dr Ryan’s group. Dr Ryan even said that I was a great candidate for robotic and he said Dr Smith would be the best choice for robotic. They never made me feel bad about consulting w their partners. I wanted robotic MV Repair and choose Dr Robert Smith but now that I am watching a dilated aorta- I chose to see Dr Harrington. She is highly respected for aortic surgery. Great hospital and exceptional physicians!

Andrew Venuto Sorry, I've been offline for a while... I agree with the other comments. There are many fantastic doctors at THHBP. My experience there was top notch. Dr. Smith was recommend to me because of his specialty in mitral valves(his expertise in the robotic procedure was a definite plus). I have also heard that Harrington is highly recommended and specializes in aortic valves.
