About Me (In My Own Words)
I've known I've had mitral valve prolapse since I was 21(1998). Around 2005 I found out that I had some series autoimmune related kidney problems and went through treatment. Towards the end of that treatment, a heart arrhythmia showed up. During the last 13 years, my kidney issues subsided, but the mitral valve progressed to regurgitation and the intermittent a-fib remained the same. I've been doing "watchful waiting" on my mitral valve for the last 5 years since I'm symptom free(maybe fatigue, but who can tell when you have a 3 year old and 1 year old!). I recently was told that it was time to have the valve repaired.
