Hi Annette , Welcome You are allowed to feel worried or frightened . We are all still here to tell the tale and have had the surgery , one way or another . You are going to be okay
I know it is very scary time. What helped me was knowing all the people who came out the other side OK. And I am now one of them.
What frightens you the most? I can tell you the difficult parts weren’t comfortable but not as bad as I feared and it all has faded after 18 months. I had open heart aortic valve replacement. I can honestly say I don’t feel as if anything happened at this point…I have a foot long scar that makes it real, but it’s not a bad looking scar.
I wish you all the best.

Leona Resch Hi Annette’! I was completely terrified and so anxious ! I am now 4 wks out from aortic valve replacement and doing great! The first week or two is uncomfortable but not what I imagined it to be. With the faith in my surgeon and support from all around, including the encouraging people on this site who know firsthand, even the most frightened person like me got through this. You can too. There are some surprises and good days vs bad days but nothing you can’t get through. Today I walked 1/2 mile outside and felt great! You’ll get there too!!
