Hey there fellow long islander! born & raised and lived up until last year in East Hampton, my husband was a fisherman from Montauk, we moved to Seattle last year since he's been fishing in Alaska for the past 5 years now, we miss it terribly and may move back soon. Anyway, you look great and I'm glad you made it out and you're recovering! Sounds like you have a good support system at home, that's so important. My family flew out from the east coast and stayed here for a bit & I snapped at all of them, it's ok, everything is beyond stressful and uncomfortable, it's understandable to do so. I had my first AVR in 2007 at NYU minimally invasive a small incision on the right side of the chest and my second just this past April open heart avr plus ascending aortic graft & coronary artery replacement, pericardial patch to enlarge my aortic area, a whole lotta shit - just like you. When we moved here last year I knew something was wrong and I had to scramble to find a new cardiologist, thank goodness I found my surgeon at Univ of WA. All the best of luck to you on your recovery!! Cardiac rehab made me feel human again, I just graduated 2 weeks ago. It's not mandatory but I highly recommend it to help the recovery process speed along, I also met some cool people who were experiencing the same things I was so we could complain together and watch each other get stronger :)
