Wow, I knew for years I had MVP but I never knew what these "episodes" were before my surgery. Ended up being VFib, but not enough to stop my heart, thankfully! So glad your son was able to save you!! I had mitral valve repair surgery, ended up with complications and now have an ICD. They could find nothing to ablate, so it's my insurance policy. When I read stories like yours, it makes me thankful I do have it. I wish you the best with your surgery.

Everybody has to make their own choice, but a lot of physically active people on this site seem to prefer tissue over mechanical, so I’m just curious.
