my name is mark edward sherwinsky Connecticut 62 yrs. old had the bentall process done Sept, 2005. I am still here as you can tell. i was a serious snow skier since i was 12 yrs. old. stopped the sport 2yrs. ago. Expert steep, mogul skier. a lot of serious blood pumping thru this body. i skied that december no problem at least for me. doctors said no but i could not stop doing it. I wrote this as i see you play tennis so maybe it would relate to your sport. Now the only thing your going to be taking is a blood thinner the rest of your life if your going to have a mechanical aortic valve. i.m in remodeling so i get cut alot i;m fine. I know i bruise way to easy a the bruises become huge. at48yrs. old if i got a tissue valve. my doctor told me i would need most likely need 2 more valves if i live along life. said i most likely would not survive the last one. So i took the mechanical valve. .I don't know how long your surgery will last Mine was suppose to be 5hrs. lasted 9yrs. I want you to look this up and read it (Pumphead from Heart surgery. Also Bill Clinton's Madness. If they told you fine . no one told me about it it's about Memory loss.. You have to get your surgery but it is nice to tell you especially your wife what to expect down the line after open heart surgery. I am in great health now. weightlifting gym guy, aggressive working person. I had the same size aneurysm it was a pretty easy answer for me and probably will be for you. Reality get the surgery or see your maker. You have any questions about the surgery talk to me. before it or after.
