Carolyn Gonzalez   Hi Karen and Grace! I just found this in my junk email. It was so nice of you to think of me. I'm so glad that you are doing well. Thanks be to God my surgery and recovery went wonderfully aside from some minor pleural effusions that were treated successfully with Lasix. I did not go to cardiac rehab but made sure to walk daily and was able to return to my job as a teacher 8 weeks post-surgery. Honestly, I feel so good I really don't think about the surgery anymore. I guess at some point this will change as at some point I will need another valve replacement. For now, I am just enjoying my good health! Hope you continue to be well!

Grace Mason   That's wonderful Carolyn! So glad you checked in. I'm sure we were not the only people wondering how you were doing. 
I was able to get back to work at 10 weeks part time and was fully back after the Christmas school break. I work locally at the School Board (in Finance).
I am sure you are busy getting close to wrapping up another year already. Take care and well wishes for many years with your new valve❤️

Grace Mason   Thank you. I'm glad to hear that. I think my recovery has been aided much by rigid sternal fixation. I will be thinking of you and praying for you and your team in the upcoming days and on your big day
