Robert Miller I am not sure what you mean with lump but I did get a bump over one of my ribs. I suspect it's a wire that repositioned itself after me being active. When I run my finger over it, it feels very hard. If it feels soft, it might be something else. Our insurance allows us to contact a nurse via phone free of charge to discuss issues. If you have that option, I would do that first. If not, check with your regular detector or if you are due for an appointment with the cardiologist, then with the cardiologist.
Jeff Offermann I had the same problem it eventually flattened.

Fidel Martínez Ruiz Small lumps aligned by the titanium staples that close my sternum, which haven't been removed yet. It´s not painfull, but a little creepy. Anyway, titanium is biocompatible. I´m agree with Robert´s comments if it troubles you. As for sleep, mine is quite irregular . I want to believe that the important thing for the heart is to rest lying down about 8 hours.

I just read the newsletter and was surprised when I read about AFib which I’m experiencing. I needed that! I had my surgery Oct 7th aortic valve and aneurysm repair. I unfortunately ended up with a pacemaker. I understand that AFib will go away, in most cases. It’s still very scary. I’m doing well. I too have worked out since my 20’s and feel I’m recovering very well. I love this blog as it gets me through the day. Also thank you Adam. I picked my surgeon from an interview you did. Dr Weiss, St Luke’s Hospital.

Klara Čičić Dear Nancy, it is still early, and Afib is very common in the first 12 weeks after the surgery. I know how unpleasant they can be. I hope you experience less and less of them! Stay positive and keep ticking :)

Jill Porter Hi! I also had Afib after my surgery. Periodically before surgery too. I was so worried that it wouldn't go away but with medication it reverted back to sinus rhythm after about five weeks. It is a very distressing feeling. You have to just take one day at a time and trust that your heart will heal and it will go away. I'm sure your doctors are doing whatever is necessary for you.

Thank you Adam for relieving my anxiety with your experience and knowledge. Without you I wouldn’t have found my surgeon.
