Thanks for the advice you left about the pain manifesting in other areas aside from the sternum. That is good information and something that probably would have worried me otherwise. How are you feeling now about a month out? Looks like I am having pretty much the same surgery as you. I bet it feels great to have the surgery behind you!

David Dobner Hi Kimberly, sorry i didn't get back to this before. I'm 6 weeks out now and feel so much better (starting to feel somewhat normal). It's still tiring to do more social activities, rehab twice a week, exercising every day (I do 40-45 mins on the recumbant bike) and have started work again this week. Transitioning in.
At 4 weeks, the pain seemed to have mostly gone fro the sternum and I felt more from the chest muscles as I started to use them more. Some double vision (I now attribute to the amiodorone, which I'm no longer taking). I'll check shortly to see when your op is/ was.
To summarise I feel great, thankful, probably somewhat fitter than before- even so soon (due to the symptoms pre op) and a little tired, knowing I have another 2 weeks before the sternum is completely healed and 6 weeks before rebuilding all chest muscles and fitness.
It certainly is a journey, but one we control and can choose to take positively.
I've been lucky not to have any complications (as yet) and wish you the same luck and goodwill.
