Hi Dennis, almost there and that means closer to being in recovery mode. You are young and that means recovery will be that much faster. While you will be incredibly exhausted, just remind yourself that it is mostly for the first 2 to 3 days. Once you start walking more, you will feel your energy coming back! Godspeed.

Hope everything goes well for you, I am 2.5 weeks out from an aortic valve replacement (regurgitation). I went with a tissue valve - whatever replacement valve you choose will be the right one for you. Recovery hasn't been that bad for me. Take care.

Like you, I’m also having a hard time choosing the kind of valve in case replacement is necessary. May God give us the answer.

Hey Dennis . Glad my updates were helpful to you. No one wants to go through with this, especially at a young age. Keep in mind though, I think it's a good thing in many ways to do the surgery when you are still relatively healthy. I know, so far, me being in good shape (other than the valve thing...) prior to surgery has made the whole post Op experience a lot easier than it could have been. Feel free to contact me with any specific questions you may have. I'm no expert in any of this, but I can give you answers from my own experience.
