It was in the Guinness book of world records recently about a Scottish woman , Anne bell . She is the the longest surviving recipient of a mechanical mitral valve , has had the same one for nearly 49 years . Amazing ! She had her surgery in Glasgow .She was 28 years old when she had her o h s . A very lovely woman who has had a full and happy life .

Dolly Makkar Hi Ruth, nice to hear from you. I went through all the stages of grief, denial, anger, depression before my surgery but finally I’ve found acceptance. I consider myself lucky that I got a second chance to live . Every day I try to practice gratefulness. There are stilll times when I get sad and worried but Ive become better at pulling me out of those thoughts and to take it one day at a time. Thanks for your encouraging words. Stories like this give me a lot of strength. Take care 💕
