Hello Eric,
My name is Ann Barck-Holst and I am from Sweden. I have also been diagnosed with pectus excavatum and I am therefore not a candidate for minimal invasive operation of my mitral valve prolapse, which I am sad about. If I understood you correctly, do they at Mayo clinic correct your precuts excavatum at the same time that they do a full sternotomy? before the sternum is healed? I would be very greatful of an answer to this problem. My email adress is anti@barck-holst.se . Thanks in advance, Ann Barck-holst
Eric Stromerson Ann, I sent you an email. So let me know if you get it.

Hello Eric:
I am Dwight Wyatt and have been diagnosed with an thoracic aortic root aneurysm. I have not had all the tests completed but surgery appears inevitable. I too am an avid cyclist, hiker, and outdoors person. I have cycled competively off and on all my life. Even done a few races in the Pacific Northwest.
Needless to say I am quite concerned about my situation and what impact it will have on my lifestyle post surgery. Please keep me posted and will keep you in my thoughts.
fyi I am on facebook if you would like to friend me
