Hii Geoff, happy you are recovering well. I myself have mild to mod regurgitation with no aneurysm. Did you get aneurysm repair or was it only your valve that was leaking due to prolapse? Was repair an option?
Thank you!

Geoff Curtis Hey Max! I had a little or no aneurysm but severe regurgitation. I was mild to moderate for about 7 years before it progressed to severe for the past couple of years. The bicuspid valve started to get stenotic and was leaking bad enough that I was dizzy & lightheaded most days for the past 6 months prior to surgery. Dr Roselli at the Cleveland Clinic said he could repair it, but once he saw it he said the best outcome would be replacement. He thought the repair would only last 6-8yrs, vs 15yrs (avg) for the new valve.

Geoff Curtis Hey Max! 9 days post surgery and I think I'm doing pretty good. Very difficult to get sleep at night as I can't seem to get comfortable, but through the day all good. Starting to get my appetite back now and get into the groove of my daily walks & balancing the rest requirement. Thanks for asking!

Geoff Curtis The cardiologist I'm seeing there (Collier) said all my tests indicate I have time to wait and we will re-assess every year. So, right now, I'm in a holding pattern. I will definitely use them when my surgery comes due. I'll use Dr Roselli. CC is quick and efficient and I can't complain about anything :)

I am seven weeks out from mitral valve repair done by Dr. Gillanov at Cleveland Clinic. I saw a doctor in January and had surgery Feb 24th. You will not be sorry with CC. I had some issues with VT and ended up with an ICD on March 3rd. The people at Cleveland Clinic are absolutely fantastic. The care was just unbelievable. We are going tomorrow for my final check on the ICD, and I'm kind of excited to go back under not so stressful a situation. Ha! I wish you the best, and remember that regardless of surgery (breastbone, minimally invasive,...) the recovery takes time. Six weeks I started to finally feel like I may feel normal again. I am 52 YO and thought I would bounce back in a short time. I am doing very well, but it's a few months together back to "normal". Best of luck and I can't recommend Cleveland Clinic enough.

Good luck my brother
