Hello Gib. There is a national organization called Mended Hearts. I wound up finding out about the group before my surgery and started attending meetings to prepare myself for surgery. After my surgery I went to the president of my local chapter and signed up to volunteer. You have to check with your local hospital as to what there rules are for volunteering. Someone there should be able to help you out. Hopefully this help guide you in the right direction. Let me know if everything works out. It is a great experience helping others in need of talking to someone that is going through the same situation.
