Hi Jennifer- sending good vibes and prayers your way!

I had my mitral valve repaired robotically at the Cleveland Clinic in January 2022. All went well. The hardest part was the time leading up to the surgery and the natural anxiety that goes along with waiting. You have a great surgeon, have heard him speak and he has a great reputation. Hello Jennifer,
I just saw your journal and see you’re from MI too! Did you have all of your pre op testing done at U of M Health? Wondering what your overall impression is of that process. I had a consult last week with another surgeon on Dr. Bollin’s team and was told I was not severe enough yet for surgery. I am getting a stress echo there on 8/30.

Jamie Griffith Hi Jennifer. Best of luck these next several weeks. Just short of 9 months ago, I had OHS at Michigan Medical and Dr Bolling successfully repaired my mitral valve. I have a congenital condition, and it was a re-repair from a prior surgery 43 years prior. My care at Michigan was extraordinary. Thinking back 9-months ago at the anxiety and uncertainty that the upcoming surgery presented, I can tell you that soon you will be on your road to recovery. Marguerite is extraordinary should you have any last second or post-op questions or concerns, as well. We are here for you if you need to lean on the heart community, as well.

Doug Fults Hi Jennifer, I'm also scheduled for a Mitral Valve repair, just after you (September 10th), but I've known that it'd have to be fixed - at some point - for some 32 years - and yes, I'm still nervous, but that stats all say this is the right thing to do. My (mostly functional) heart goes out to you! Wishing you well and don't hesitate to reach out if that's helpful in some way - I have not been through the surgery yet, but have had lots of time to think & research Mitral Valve repair.
