judith monti Im doing well. You? I have had very little a fib since surgery which is great news. I've had a set back or two but think I am on the right road. I start cardio rehab ogist who will manage me from there on. I believe there will be medication changes. NOw I am running hi bp and stopping the metoprolol (hives) and back to a small dose of benicar,
I will be happy to return to my normal routine. Unfortunately my gym closed while i was out. It was 1 mile from the house. Have to search for another facility which I hadn't planned on.
How are you doing? Good I hope. Hope to hear from you!

Bonnie Stone-Hope Hi Judy,
I feel fine. It has just been 2 weeks but no problems to date, once I got back home.
Hoping to be able to stop meds at some point, but because of the A Fib., must stay on them for a bit.
My friends cannot believe I had the surgery, look fine, back to my old self:)
Avoiding crowds for fear of catching a cold.
Also not walking outside, as our Canadian weather has been VERY cold, slippery outside and do not want to fall.
So, being cautious for the next couple of weeks, then will be ready to go :)
Keep in touch! Hope you are doing well.
judith monti I seem to have veray little afib nowadays. Happy with that result!

I want to stay away from close contact with anyone not well too.
I thought I was pretty well healed, now almost 6 weeks post op. The cardiologist said my health was compromised for so long that I went into surgery below the curve. He said it would take monthes to feel 100, I will have good days, bad days, anxiety & perhaps depression. Just part of the game. So Bonnie hope you won't jump back full throttle so soon after surgery. I do get more tired and now this chest pain.
Hello Judith, Welcome.

judith monti Had surgery on Nov 29, mitral valve repair with an ablation. Unfortunely my heart rate is consistantly above 120 and my blood pressure is low. I have to be careful re: how I take my new meds. They were not happy about releasing me but couldn't make sense of keeping me bc I am doing so well. I'm glad it's over. When is your surgery Bonnie? I saw it was delayed 2x.

There is a video on this site with Adam asking a specialist (Dr. Gillanov?) about A Fib. after valve surgery and he states that A Fib after valve surgery is common, but temporary! So, hope your A Fib is under control shortly. Must leave you weak.
Hope you gain your strength back very quickly and can get on with your life:)
