Lisa & Glen Smith Dr. Wierup, they assigned him to me. I think with all the factors I am going to go with a sternotomy. I may not even qualify for the robotic minimally invasive, my femoral artery I think is too small. Leaving for CC 2 weeks from Tuesday.

Paul Pierce There is a dr in Miami that does mini thoracotomy. Its a cut under the right breast and minimally invasive and can do it without the femoral artery. I was thinking of that because he is close to home and very good surgeon. Dr Joseph Lamelas Mount Sinai Miami Beach.

Lisa & Glen Smith Consult went well. Went to surgeon recommended by my cardiologist. Specializes in mitral valve.
Decided to book surgery for 3/12. I am symptomatic so I'm ready to be on the other side recovering.
Repair is optimistic however replacement is a back up. All very surreal. Dont think it will hit me until I'm at the hospital the morning of surgery.
