About Me (In My Own Words)
I was unaware of my MVP until I turned 50. I am now 54. My sister and father both had it. At my annual ECHO this year, my ventricle had enlarged so my cardiologist decided it was time to repair it. I have a barlows type valve. My surgeon is 90% sure he can repair it. He prefers open heart as opposed to minimally invasive. I'm not worried about the scar (I gave up my swimsuit modeling career years ago) . I am confident in my surgeon but am still having some anxiety about he whole procedure. My sister just had her mitral replaced and tricuspid replaced. She's now in AFIB but no other complications. She's 71.
