Hi Lorraine, I am so sorry to hear about all the problems with your first heart surgery. I can just imagine what it must have been like being on a ventilator for a month! No, Lorraine, you are not alone. This site is absolutely wonderful. I admire the patients for their emotional strength and for the way they encourage each other. If you need a second opinion, please seek out the world famous Dr. David Adams who is Professor and Chair of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Mount Sinai Hospital and Dr. Paul Stelzer, world famous for aortic valve surgery, also with Mount Sinai.
