Maria DeMarco Fidel, that you so much. Are you also a patient of Dr. Gillinov? I have so many questions I do not know where to start. I am also looking at Dr. Jose Navia as well and will be speaking with him this week.

George Gardopee Hi Maria. Many of us here have had very successful surgeries by Dr Gillinov. Mine was a little over three years ago. I may have had an easier time of it than many, but I wish I had known before hand how much easier it was going to be than my imagination led me to believe. I wrote a pretty long account of the whole process at the CC with Dr Gillinov in my journal - it may answer some of your questions. If not, everyone here will be very helpful.
Fidel Martínez Ruiz Hi Maria: I had surgery in Madrid (Spain)
by Dra. Castro Pinto, an excellent surgeon and person. I think that Dr. Gillinov
is a very good surgeon, according to our colleagues in the chat say. If
the option that Dr. José Navia suggests you is to repair the valve, you should
choose a surgeon who has performed many repair operations and there are quite a
few in the United States. Dr. Gillinov is one of them. But it could be that due
to clinical conditions they have to replace the valve, which is a less complex
surgery and although it is a good option (is my own case), it is not as good as the
repair. My best wishes .
