Michael Harman  I was scared also but the morning of the surgery I went into the I think it's called Pre-Op or something like that and they connected me up and gave me a couple of pills, next thing I remember was waking up in my room. I asked when are they going to do the surgery and the nurse said it is already done. I had little pain for the first day then not much at all. Same with the pacemaker. I had one incident of going flat line for about 15 heart beat counts then it came back barely registering on the monitor but gradually came back to normal. I have had many such flatline incidents previous to the surgery. This is the reason I got the pacemaker.

Nicole DuPont  So glad all is well with you and the pacemaker! You make the surgery sound like a piece of cake, and I hope that I don’t experience much post-op pain either. Thanks for sharing!

Michael Harman  Yes very scary but I had that many times in the past, this being the first time I actually saw what was happening, but as you know I always came back, some times I would pass out completely and once for more than 15 minutes. That is why they said I needed a pacemaker.

Michael Harman  Before the operation I would take a even short walk over to the mail box and would be in quite a bit of pain because my heart would not keep up with my body's needs. My aortic valve would not close completely or open far enough to let much blood to pass through, it leaked badly so I was diagnosed with severe aortic stenosis.
