Herb Greenberg Mike, I'm about to turn 68 and I just had my aortic valve replaced (along with a few other things) three months ago. Bark of the procedure is worse than its bite. You will hear that from a lot of people who go through this. It's now a distant memory. Good luck.

I have a similar story to yours. Murmur diagnosed in my 20’s, nothing for 40 years, then BOOM! I developed an aneurysm, meet a cardiologist, meet a surgeon, and had surgery 3 years ago at age 63. And yes, my mind was a mess, too. But you can do this. Take it day by day, and you will get through it all. And the whole experience was not as bad as I was worried it would be. This site will help you a lot. Stay strong!
