Hi Muriel, I'm Sophia, a mitral valve repair patient. Had mine at the Royal Brompton in London, in Nov 2015. There's a few of us Brits on the site, happy to answer anything you wish. I know that I wouldn't have got through as well as I have without the wonderful people on this site. Their compassion, humour and gentle reassurance have been a God send. Wishing you all the best.

Muriel Cotterill Thank you Sophia and Maggi, I,m so pleased to have discovered this community. I will, no doubt be contacting both of you soon. Heard of Royal Brompton and Derriford Hospital. As I told you before, two hospital appointments cancelled, I should have been going to Walsgrave next weekend 19 February, operation 20th rearranged for 5th/6th March unless cancelled again.

Sophia Ridley I hope it's not cancelled once more, the anxious wait is bad enough.
Not much consolation, but I would have rathered be recovering in the spring, instead of heading into winter. Helps the mood and much more opportunity to get outside. The medics will be stressing to you to walk, walk, walk!
