Natalee- That comment about your waiting for the calming and acceptance is truly just around the corner....It comes as you are being wheeled into surgery with a pretty little baggy on your hair, warm sickies on your feet and surrounded by the most caring, dedicated team of people with the intent showing on their faces to get you through your surgery and back home again to all of those lovely people you spoke of in your latest post! How nice to have your decorating for Christmas done and have quality time with your family. You will do fine and with your fine spirit be home and healing in no time....BELIEVE! Christine Oliva Natalee, good luck tomorrow and your recovery. I'm just over month post AVR and I'm doing okay. If I can do it anyone can with some encouragement and grit!
Looking forward to seeing you on the other side. Believe me once you get out the hospital things start moving forward. I can't believe its been a month. Good luck kiddo! You can do it!

Hi Natalee, continue to stay strong. Everything will be fine! The evening before my surgery, I still didn't think it was really going to happen. Even when I went to the hospital the next morning & was in a hospital gown waiting to go into the operating room, it didn't seem real. I said "I guess I'm going through with this" and I did. I knew it was the right thing to do. My surgery was a success (mini mitral valve repair) and now I'm at home recovering. You'll be back home again recovering very soon. My thoughts & prayers will be with you. Liz

Natalee the acceptance will come as it gets nearer. You don't have to like it, but you'll realize you are not only doing it to survive but for those who love you. I'm three weeks out tomorrow from my AVR and is tough but tolerable. Hold on, don't give up, look for the light and you will make it. It does get better, believe me. Blessings to you and your family.
