Phil - it’s great to hear how well you are doing! Thanks for the encouragement to all of us heart warriors to get healthy and stay healthy!! My surgery was right behind you on November 27. I’m still using an at home physical therapist but expect to start cardiac rehab in a couple of weeks!!
I’m assuming you are a Packers fan! My husband’s family is from Appleton...or should I say, 20 minutes from Lambeau!

Phil Neidner Thanks Debbie! Best of luck and my Cardio Rehabilitation of 9 weeks was amazing. Today will mark my 64th day in a row of at least 30 minutes on the treadmill. I'm 59 year old and weigh 167 pounds. It's important to me to start the day with an exercise routine, which helped my progress greatly from Mitral Valve Repair and Coronary Artery Bypass Graph. I've been informed that 5-8 years depending upon how the Aortic Valve dilates, I will need to go back in for repair or replacement. Hopefully next year we will be able to once again get excited about the Packers!! New coaches, new team kinda like new surgery, new life. Keep healthy!!

Phil Neidner Debbie, you bring up a great point as far as being out of breath. I have exercised regularly and have gotten back to HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) where you increased your workout, then stabilize, followed by high intensity again. This is all fine and good for me. However I have found time and time again when walking up a set of steps, or more I am extremely winded, out of breath. After my recent EKG, the Doctor said the Mitral Repair looks good and is closing as it should. My concern is my Bicuspid Aortic Valve which Ive been told will need to be replaced in the future. I wonder if this is associated with me being out of breath. I'm going to give it some time (a few months) and then depending on how I'm feeling go in for additional tests. Any information you can provide, how you're feeling is appreciated. Pray you are doing well! We're headed to San Jose del Mexico next week for 10 days, can't wait.

Debbie Moriarty What a fun trip!!! I am getting along a bit better with my shortness of breath. I find if I walk a little slower then I am not so out of breath and don’t have to stop as often to catch my breath. I am anxious to see how I do in cardiac rehab! I have a feeling I’ll be picking up the pace a bit!! I have a follow up visit with my pulmonologist next week. I am anxious to see what his assessment is!
But hopefully someday soon I can do that!!!
