Hi Sean, Great to meet you and welcome aboard! I just read in your story that you're heading to New York Presbyterian with Dr. Borger next week. I've met Dr. Borger once. He seems like a great guy. More importantly, I hear he's an excellent surgeon. I hope the information and people at this website help you along your journey. Please let me know if you need anything. Adam

Sean Reilly Thanks Adam. I continue to hear wonderful feedback about Dr. Borger's presence and skill in the OR. Looking forward to tackling this mandatory challenge in my life with positive spirits. It's been a rough couple of years. My son was diagnosed with PA+VSD+MAPCAs and has already had 2 surgeries at LPCH in Stanford, CA (we live in NJ) by Dr. Frank Hanley. My son, Colin (now 2), and my daughter (4.5) are a wonderful motivation for me. After the initial ordeal with my son, my wife left me (not all tough times have happy interim endings like the movies). In any event, I have an incredible blessed life to be thankful for and positive expectancy is an incredibly powerful tool in life. I thank you for writing your book. Although I am quite familiar with many aspects of your book having around hospitals for the last 2 years regarding the intensity of my son's medical care (and 25 years ago as I also had surgically corrected ASD when I was 12), the book has been a tremendous aid in communicating with my support group. It has helped managed their expectations and allow them to "empty" some of the emotional shock that comes with seeing a loved one in such an unnatural environment and atypical presentation. I hope to meet you someday. Perhaps I can help further the mission of the heartvalvesurgery endeavor at some point. Best regards and thank you for your kind note.

Sean Reilly Adam, one more thing. If possible, I strongly recommend including Dr. Borger at NY Pres in the surgeon recommendations link of this website. He should at minimum be searchable for the David Procedure (he believes he most likely has performed as many, if not more, than the pioneer of this procedure and his mentor, Dr. Tyrone David). Thanks! S
