Hi Suzanne! I just saw your comment on my incision post and wanted to answer your question for you! Some must haves for me:
Chapstick - great for dry mouth after being on the vent
Neutrogena face wipes (priceless!) - you can't shower until all wires and tubes are removed
Dry shampoo
My own night gowns, underwear and grippy bottomed slippers - made me feel like a human again
Miralax and fiber one bars and cereal - those pain meds do a number on your bowels!!
Feminine products - the stress of the surgery sends most women into their time of the month. Mine came a week early. Ugh.
Baby wipes - (for said bowel issues)
My own pillow and blanket - also priceless, hospital pillows are weird and plastic-y
Headbands and hair ties
I also brought along my kindle loaded with audio books, my phone with a playlist of my favorite music, a coloring book and a journal - I didn't feel up to using any of these though, but some people do so I would suggest bringing them just incase.
I wish you the best of luck!!! I know exactly how you feel right now....before you know it you'll be laying on your couch, giving post op advice just like me!!! Please keep in touch and let me know how it goes. I'll be praying for you š
