Hello Truls! I am a bus driver also, and got my mechanical valve on March 4, 2014, in Florida. Still, going around a tight corner stretching across the big steering wheel sometimes I can feel slight pain and pulling. You too? -Meredith

Truls from your post you have a nice life now and did you also get a bovine valve and I wish they would last 20-30 years but I also read 10 -15 years.i always wanted to play in a band but at 72 all I do is work out and go to Fla. for the winter and again you have some great pictures on your post.

Truls Einar great story about you.I had a bovine valve put in at 67 and now at 72 I work out 6 days week.I hope this valve last a long time.I must say where you live is beautiful and I hope one you come to the USA.

Truls you have a history with your heart just like me and you have battled all of the obstacles that have came your way. Now is the time to enjoy life and go after all of your goals, like visitng the US. Your English is great. Yes we all have to leave it up to God when it comes to the life of these valves. All we can do is to try and stay as healthy physically and mentally, so that they will last as long as our older years take us.

I love your story. It's nice to know of people all over the world. Today technology is so good that hopefully in the coming years valves will be replaced with simple surgery. We are so blessed to live in this day and age.

Hello Truls. Pleased to meet you and see that your english is very good. You have had much history with your heart and see that you would like some certainty with the valve choice. Firstly, we are all in God's hands regarding our lives and choices. That includes our heart as well. I am not familiar with this valve type but someone on site may have knowledge of this valve and its projected lifespan. Please look at the videos and information in the knowledge section of this site and you may find the answers you are looking for. I chose a tissue valve because it didn't require blood thinners and was quiet in operation. I am hoping that I can get a trans-catheter valve when it is time to change my next valve. Good luck.
