Hello,
I have a very hard time finding anyone who has Tricuspid regurgitation, so I am so glad I found you today! I have had my valve followed since 2016 and in past 5 years has been at moderate to severe regurgitation. My Dr at Northwestern in Chicago tells me I am not ready for surgery yet, but I worry about it every day. I do hope to stay in contact with you and please let me know how you are doing and what the plan is for you going forward. Much love sent, Kim

Yalitzaly Torres Hi Kimberly! I’m so glad you found me too! 😁 So, I’ve had tricuspid regurgitation for about 10 years and it’s now to the point that I definitely need surgery to fix it. However, because of my heart working so hard over the years, the right side of my heart is now dilated and depressed, so my surgeon wants a second opinion because he said when he looked at the TEE results he didn’t see that it was depresses as they stated. So, with that being said, if it is as depressed as they said, can cause a lot of problems once they fix my valve because my then the right side of my heart won’t be able to pump hard enough to get the blood through the valve. If at all this makes any sense. I’m super scared everyday I worry because my heart just keeps working so hard and it’s only getting bigger. So Doc said he’s going to send my results to an extremely great surgeon in New York that actually worked on his Uncle that had the same issue as me and see what he says. Fingers crossed and head bowed down 🙏🏻 I just want to feel good again. I am always tired, out of breath, sometimes my chest will hurt or just feel weird and it freaks me out. My ankles swell when I do a little more active things during the day. I’m on diuretic meds and high blood pressure med as well. Anyways, how are you? How do you feel? Any symptoms? When were you diagnosed? Thank you for writing me!!! So glad to have found someone with the same valve as me!!!! It is hard to find tricuspid valve cases. You’re absolutely right about that. Anyway, let me stop I am writing a book here 🤣 You’re in my prayers, don’t worry too much, God is with you and will keep you protected always 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🤍🤍🤍 Hope to hear back from you soon!!! Xoxo

Kimberly Eisenhut Thank you for responding! What does "depressed mean? I have never heard this word used about heart chamber. Do you mean it is enlarged? That is what my Dr always watches, as well as numbers for how my heart is pumping in general. She always does her own measurements as well, as she does not always trust the measurements of the Echo techs. I totally understand the anxiety and fear because there just is not as many tricuspid surgeries done and not as much outcome information. The outcome info I have seen makes me terrified of surgery also. Please let me know what your Dr says after hearing what other specialist says. My journey with this started in 2016 and once it became moderate, my then cardiologist sent me to my heart valve specialist I have now at Northwestern Bluhm Cardiovascular in Chicago. Adam has interviewd many of the surgeons and Cariologists there and I am lucky my insurance is in network. I so look forward to keeping in touch with you and hope you get the answers you need. SO much LOVE and HUGE HUGS sent to you 🥰
