Joan Lyons 3 1/2 years after AOV and finding life wonderful. Feet decided it was better for me to ride than walk long distance, try to ride either outside or on stationary bike 5-6 day/week. Have been doing this since I left rehab which was the best thing I ever did. GO TO REHAB...no matter how hard it is to start with, keep going for as long as your insurance will pay and then do more on your own afterwards. We are all FORDs...fix or repair daily... as the saying goes. So thankful for the people who take care of all of us. Pay that forward by taking care of yourself....be there to love your family, friends... and you. Study up on what your surgery will be...I watched one on UTube, start to finish, before my AOV...so reassuring to go into surgery knowing what they were going to do, how confident they were, how prepared we all were. Fear is not know what will happen, fear is running scenarios of wild "what ifs" over and over again that won't happen . Believe in knowledge, believe in the surgical and recovery teams abilities and training. And most of all, believe that you have a good future waiting for you.
