Lynee Casper Day 2 In ICU. and so glad to have my heart pillow. ( had my mitral valve repair done early morning March 3rd My mitral valve surgery and ASD repair went well. Now to the recovery. I am in a cardio wing of hospital now and Doctors may release me to go home tomorrow or Tuesday

Lynee Casper Thanks you guys. I am so glad to have surgery complete and happy to look forward to a stronger heart and better life. I know lots of steps ahead, and I'll find some challenges. Everyone at Mercy Hospital, from my surgeon, Dr. David Hockmuth, to the ICU and step up hospital units were amazing. They were really kind, attentive and dedicated. Thanks Iowa heart Doctors and staff!. And I earned a heart pillow which has come in handy. I'll squeeze it tight!

Jan McClain Hmmmm this may seem small-minded, but I'm really jealous of the size of your heart pillow, mine from the Renowned Cleveland Clinic is MUCH smaller. I guess its more portable than yours, but as we have all been reminded recently, SIZE IS EVERYTHING, so my insane jealousy is justified. Jeez I wish I had asked Dr. Gillinov to sign mine!

Terrie Syvertsen Hi Lynee- Love the photo! I biked right up until my surgery as well and it
does wonders for those walks along the hospital hallways to have strong
legs from the biking! Also did wonders to have the wind in my face and the joy of the ride and scenery to take my mind off of the upcoming surgery! It was a big help getting prepared and I am sure it will be the same for you. By March you will be really ready to go forward Good for you both! Keep those positive thoughts and you will be fine!

Cheryl Bass Wonderful that you are able to stay active, my husband is a bike rider and it wears me out to ride if there are any hills, so I am looking forward to after my operation in March to ride with him. I will be praying for you in your upcoming surgery
