Lynn Loudermilk Deena, some days it goes really well others I just don't wanna do anything, but force myself to do something. Anywhere from 2-4 times a day 5 minutes at a time, then if the weather is bad the recumbent teeter 2-3 times a day 5-8 minutes at a time. My step counter isnt' high, but it ok. I normally didn't do a lot of walking. I hit 2000 steps the other day. Teeter is easier on my OA in my hips. I push myself more on the teeter. I was just doing 5 minutes but now depending on how I am feeling I do more. BUT never too much.

Deena Z Thanks, Lynn. I have been doing around three walks per day, six or seven minutes each. I walked longer one day and did 4 round trip of stairs (15 up and 15 down), and ended up exhausted and in pain, so lesson learned. I'd rather push in cardiac rehab, when I am being professionally monitored, because, I agree with you, overexertion is a much bigger set-back then under! Look forward to hearing about your rehab sessions. Mine do not start until late May!
Has enyone had this closure thing. I was told I will be having one. Post op was exhausting.

Page Barnes I did not have a wound vac during my surgery but as an OT, I have patients that use it for various wounds. Have not seen it used on a sternotomy wound though. Should help speed up the healing process and decrease chance of infection if used right. Shouldn’t cause any extra pain. Sorry I wish I could be more helpful on this subject.
