LINDA ROBERTS Yes, you did too much too soon so think that was a sign to take it more easy. I know my chest muscles got sore until about week 9. You will be amazed once you start cardiac rehab how much stronger you will become.

Susan Lynn I'm sorry to hear that Maryann. It's easy to forget that you're recovering from major surgery when you're feeling so good, but try to take it easy. My house wasn't perfect during my recovery, but the housecleaning did get done eventually. Take care!

Jennifer McInerney We had a small group in for my husbands birthday this morning. It was fun but when they left I slept for three hours. I am six weeks post surgery and clearly not quite 100%. It takes time and patience , that’s for sure!

Louanna Miller I’m 11 weeks out from OHS and I still pace myself. I can do many things, but limit the length of time as my sternum and chest become sore. I can honestly say, it gets better every week. I didn’t see progress every day, but did see progress every 3 days. Be gentle with yourself. Don’t expect too much from yourself. You’ve had a major major surgery.

I am so thrilled that I lived and did so well. My surgeon was fantastic. Hospital team was wonderful but when I was discharged they said “now go home and take your time give yourself the time to heal and get strong”. I did great for the first 6 weeks. Then I got antsy and did too much. I paid for it big time! I will slow down a bit and just thank God I’m alive!
Today. 10 dayspost op. Feeling fairly good. Still sleeping in the recliner. Taking short walks😊
