Terrie Syvertsen More like the "Flying Nun"! Fatigue is a big part of the recovery and is an easy fix. Listen to your body and when feeling that overwhelming feeling to sleep, please take a break and get comfortable and rest. You are early into your recovery and the walking is great but if you are really out of breath you might want to ease up a bit for a few days and let your body rebuild a bit more strength. Also make sure you are not hunching over(a bit of advice I got early on from Meredith B.!) as it is better for your chest wall as it heals back up not to be in a rounded position as you walk! You are doing great and the dog is a beauty! Remember not to lift or pull in ways that will hurt you! Continued great healing.

Tammy Pilcher So pretty! Naomi, I had breathing difficulty the day after my surgery, but it was because I had retained 10 pounds of fluid. They gave me lasix and by the next day the fluid was gone and I could breathe. I didn't have fever though. This may have been normal for others though. I hope you get some good answers here. Prayers for a great recovery and I'm glad you're on this side of surgery now! God bless you!

Jean Raber My mother ran a low-grade temp occasionally. I was supposed to call the nurse if it went over 100, which it did once, but went back down.
She had shortness of breath problems in and out of the hospital. She had a couple of different gizmos (spirometer and what looked like a ram's horn to help expel air) for lung exercises, and this helped.
However, if breathing feels difficult and uncomfortable, have somebody check in with the doc ASAP. SOB can be fluid, like Tammy said, or a-fib, or post-op pneumonia. My mom had all that stuff, and they're treatable, but let the doc's know so they can make you feel better.
Kitty wants you to!
Gloria Savannah-Austin Sorry you are having a tough day Naomi. Sending you wishes for fast healing and easy breathing. :)

Jeanette Davidson The breathing can be challenging. Really ....use the spirometer very often. I found little walks around my house helped my breathing too even though it was challenging. Watch that temp and keep your Dr informed. Hope you can get some rest! ❤️
