About Me (In My Own Words)
I was 3 years old when I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse with Regurgitation. My mom says the doctors just gave me some antibiotics back then. No follow up or whatsoever was made. 27 years after, last November 2016, I started to feel increased fatigue and shortness of breath. It became so obvious something was wrong. I went to a cardiologist and was recently told that my mild regurgitation became severe and that now I need to have a mitral valve repair/replacement. Iām so scared to undergo this procedure even though I know this will greatly benefit my life. Being a mother of a beautiful 3-year-old baby girl, I need to be ready to do this surgery even if I'm scared. We are already set on May 25, 2019. Good thing my TEE last March resulted that I only needed a repair of the mitral valve. I hope everything works well and I wish to live a long and very happy life. :)
Update!!
On the recovery side! My cardiac team tried a repair but leaflets wont hole due to calcification. So intead, they did a mitral valve replacement with medtonic valve. I will still take it! Im alive! Thank You everyone for sweet messages and prayes! May God Bless us all! šš
