Naomi Gray Hi Angelica, I had my OHS last week. I had my To Do list like yours. I realized that you won't need bathroom towel or blanket, or extra clothing. The hospital have pretty much everything you need. It'll be a good idea to bring your own music/audio book and device with a headset. My hospital room had a TV, but the cable channels are limited. If you need more that these, you are probably getting well enough to be discharged.

Louanna Miller I took a lightweight crochet throw that I liked using in the chair. Also, preferred my own pillow to the hospital pillow. I have long hair and took a few hair clips to pull it up. Ian so thankful I took a cab if Oribe Dry Shampoo. I was I. The hospital for 11 days and could not wash my hair. Ugh.

I took a journal to take notes of my hospital stay. It really has helped me remember what happened when. My husband took notes while I was in surgery and ICU so that I had an understanding of the course my surgery took. Very helpful.

Also lip moisturizer for ICU after ventilator removed. I used it throughout my stay.

I was told ahead of time to not bring pjs to hospital as they don’t want you to get them stained from fluids, blood, etc. I did take 3 pair of soft knit pj shorts for under my gown. I could walk hallways and not worry if the back tie was not perfect.

My husband bought me an electric razor as I was on Warfarin (blood thinner) for 3 months. You must be careful not to cut yourself.

My father will come home from US. Need lots of support system for this...Im glad and thankful. 😀

I also bought dry shampoo online, I had a hair treatment
3 weeks ago. Hopefully my hair wont be a mess after surgery. Lol!

Btw, did anyone write a "just in case letter" /"goodbye letter"? Im thinking of doing a "see u later"/"iloveyou letter". Just to tell my family how much I love them and appreciate them. But I dont want to get a bad start if I do this. Any thoughts?

Susan Lynn Angelica - You will be just fine! You've been waiting for this day and the anxiety and stress of that is worse than the actual surgery.
I thought about writing the Good-bye letter, but I suggest you focus on the best outcome and a procedure that goes exactly as planned. It's important not to create mental barriers that could divert your recovery. You'll cross those bridges if you come to them.
