About Me (In My Own Words)
After I was diagnosed with paroxysmal
Afib 10 years ago and beginning to see a cardiologist, it was determined that I had an aortic bivalve. I knew I had a heart murmur but thought it was a minor mitral valve prolapse. So we have been waiting and watching with occasional echocardiograms. Now I am beginning to see a few symptoms and my last echo showed moderately severe aortic stenosis. I was recently found to be anemic which has made my cardiac symptoms more difficult. So, after my anemia is dealt with we will proceed with a cardiac cath followed by a valve replacement at the appropriate time…... . I am a “young” 77 year old retired OR nurse who has always been active.
