About Me (In My Own Words)
I was diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve 12-15 years ago after a routine physical. A murmur was detected and after a handful of tests the diagnosis was made. I have been following this ever since and always knew a procedure would need to be done. I am 45 I was asymptomatic pretty much entire time since diagnosis. I had a 2 week span in august of 2022 where I did not feel well. Had heart palpitation's more frequent and then unexplained fatigue in afternoon. After 2 weeks it all went away and I was fine. in that time I followed up with doctor and had a chest CT and a TEE test. Met with Dr. Ibrahim following TEE and he recommended I have procedure sooner then later. Sooner is Dec. 2nd. He said I am a good candidate for the Ross procedure. He will link up with Dr. Wilson Szeto. If my valve can be repaired Dr. Szeto will do. If it needs replacement, Dr. Ibrahim will do. Ross would be first option and tissue valve 2nd.
Its been a lot to digest since nov. 2nd. But reading and listening to stories has been helpful.
