9 days post op from Ross procedure. All I can say is WOW! I can’t thank the surgeon’s, cardiac tea and all
those who tended to me during my post op stay at Penn. Truly a world class place. I feel really good considering the procedure. My surgical team put me at ease but was still nervous going in. First 24 hours post op in icu felt little like the twilight zone. I think the research I did prior really helped calm and prepare me. Also reading others stories and talking on phone with people who took this trip.

I am here for anyone who has questions about the process. This platform is great and I am thankful I found it prior to surgery.

my surgical plan was to possibly repair first then Replace second. RepAir was attempted but replace was more realistic once they started and the ROSS was my ticket. I am so thankful for everyone who was part of my cardiac team! Today I feel like I have a fresh start and am looking forward to recover, getting stronger and being an ear n voice for anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation!

My name is David. Im 45. was diagnosed about 15 years ago with bicuspid aortic valve and aneurysm after a routine physical where a murmur was discovered. Been following ever since. Iv'e been an active athlete all my life rowing, surfing, swimming etc. After recent TEE test I met Michael Ibrahim at PENN. We are planning surgery for Dec. 2nd. I was hoping to not have this till later in life, but sooner than later turned into Dec. 2nd. He will be teamed up with Dr. Wilson Szeto. Hoping to repair first- if not then aim for Ross Procedure. Anyone have experience with this procedure and or Dr.'s? Been doing a lot of reading and when I came across this site it really helped put me at ease a bit. Thank you all for sharing your stories.
