About Me (In My Own Words)
I've known I had mitral valve prolapse since I was a teenager. Never had any problems or paid any attention to it until my wonderful Dr. urged me to have an echo done, since it sounded worse. After a year I finally gave in and had an echo and was referred to a heart specialist who informed the regurgitation was severe. I never dreamed I would have to have open heart surgery, but to prevent any heart damage, we decided to have it done soon. I found this site by accident, but it has been so helpful to hear other people going through the same thing. Thank you Adam!
