About Me (In My Own Words)
The aneurysm was detected after a visit to my family doc where I was complaining about breathlessness and chest pain. Nitro cleared that up, but no going home for me.
Discovered I had a worn out bicuspid aortic valve, along with a large aneurysm.
Had a Dacron sleeve installed for aneurysm repair and a mechanical heart valve.
My recovery was very slow with a couple trips back into ICU . I learned later that they thought they might lose me.
My body just rejected the whole idea of these new parts.
A long recovery followed at home.
My life has never been normal since. It’s a new normal.
