Had atrial fibrilation and mitral regurgitation since approximately 2000 and progressively worse symptoms. Now have added periodic VTAC and have had ablations. Planning to have Mitral repair in approximately 6 weeks to get better control of rhythm.
Saw one of my cardiologists today (July 1) and he said that he's very happy that I'm proceeding with the repair and that many (if not most) patients are in worse condition when they have the surgery, which is a plus for my outlook and recovery. Made me feel better about the whole thing.
