I found out a year after my echo that I had moderate aortic stenosis. A week later I found out that it had progressed to severe. I had no idea anything was wrong before this, as I had broken my left hip 1.5 years prior and thought my shortness of breath was due to lack of exercise. Then I began to get lightheaded, almost passing out, and my surgeon scheduled valve replacement surgery immediately.
