About Me (In My Own Words)
I have heart problems running in my family on my Dads side. He had Wolfe White Parkinson Snydrome and later had an adominal aortic anuersym, died 3 months later of conjestive heart failure. At that time I found it is hereditary. So here is my story. About 5 years ago I was told I had a heart murmur. When I moved South got a new doctor and he right away wanted to do an echo cardiogram. I had to wait until I was 65 years old. Well in Aug. I had 2 big seizures and that was my wake up call. Had the echo done and on my 65th birthday was told it was Aortic Stenosis. Welcome to retirement. Saw the heart doctor and he also added an anuersym going into my neck. He told me to loose weight and eat better. So I have joined Weight Watchers and lost 17 pounds and still going. He also wanted me to walk 2 miles a day. So I have done all of that and now on Feb.2 I go for an ultasound and on Feb 8th a Tee test and see the doctor on the 22nd. It was diagnosed as moderate at a 3.2. I was so scared that in Sept my husband and I joined our church and I was baptized in November. That has helped a lot. I wasnt allowed to go to gym or even walk the dog to much stress. So that is my story for now. I have read anything and everything about all of this and still have the nerves and now the butterflies starting up. I have seen my Dad surgery and my daughter and maybe that is bad as I kinda know what to expect. I just want to get it over with and get healthy again.
