About Me (In My Own Words)
I was so sick I went to my Dr. I was given antibiotics. But I stopped and listened to the voice instructions inside my head, I shared what was on my heart. I told Dr. Grey Sr. after another red flag a really high blood pressure reading that I was getting exhausted bringing my garbage can up the driveway. He asked my age and said " your too young to be experiencing this." I was given a referral to Cardiologist. I was also in a Nursing Program. We studied taking each other’s blood pressure. I had for years been getting High blood pressure results I was told I had a heart murmur . I really didn’t understand what it meant till I had it explained in Nursing School. My pressure was at 180 to 200 I had a fellow student say”. Girl that’s stroke level you should go to emergency room. I went to the cardiologist office blocks away where they just that day received my referral. I asked to see a Dr. explaining what happened. I was given an appointment for months in the future I took my paperwork sat down and prayed. I asked others to pray with me for my blood pressure and I asked for Help. I walked up to the desk papers in hand just then a Dr stood in the window. He asked did I have a patient because I was wearing Scrubs. I spoke up sharing I was the patient. I told him my class experience and showed him my blood pressure numbers. He looked at me. I told him my October appointment. Being July he said ""I think we want to see you before then." Monday the next week I was back . I failed the EKG. abnormal, I was given X-ray and returned back a couple of days later for echo cardio gram. OMG. I hurt as she pressed over my Heart but I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen. The technician kept circling spraying images. I was told I am skipping the stress test. diagnosis, I have an Aortic Valve Stenosis it is Severe. I was told I would have an angiogram. I researched this a camera goes into my heart. I stayed awake through that surgery amazing technology. During the surgery 5 catheters were used to go into the heart up my radial vein right arm. I was referred to St. Vincent's Valve Clinic were I met my Surgeon Dr. Ott ,and was told to choose a valve. I researched my heart out. The peace that passed understanding guarded my heart. I picked the Edwards Inspires. Which just happened to be designed originally the year I was born. For such a time as this. I was given the Valve and the Surgery Sept.30 2021. My sister has been my caregiver and host these 4 Weeks today of recovery I am so thankful. I Awe, Thank you Lord Jesus Christ for Miracles and so much More.
